A bajillion entries...anyway... just wanted to write that Megan came upstairs this morning while I was oversleeping and says, "I just read four chapters in my tiara club book!" So I groggily say, "That's wonderful sweetie." Later I asked her if she really read four chapters and she says, "I read the whole book!" I didn't know if she was just saying that or what, so all day I'd ask on and off, "You really read the whole book??? Tell me about it..." and she was like, "Yes! I read it. I don't want to talk about it though". So I was skeptical. She's banned from the computer and ds right now but she wanted to check her email. I said, "You can check your email if you tell me all about the book you read today..." And holy cow! She really did read that book. She talked about it for about 10 minutes. She basically gave me an oral book report. I was so proud.
Anyway, here's the book she read: Princess Charlotte and the Birthday Ball. She loves princesses and this is a whole series. I'm going to buy her some more within the next day or so.

You shouldn't be surprised when I tell you that they don't carry the cow van gogh fabric at Joann's anymore & I can't find it online either. Guess whatever I end up making in that fabric will be very limited. That sucks. :(
My brother's fiancee, Kelly, has this on her myspace. I've never heard it before but I like it.
I'm kind of sick of lampshades now. I still have to mod podge the pansy ribbon and add purple flowers to it. Blah. I'm going to work on my stockings now because I have to and it calms me.
Since we bought our grill, our diet has been grilled chicken, a vegetable (most asparagus), an herb bread, and olive oil with herbs for dipping. I love that kind of food. I've discovered that I love the taste of olive oil much more than butter or smart balance. I love to douse my bread in the oil. Mm.. so good. Anyway, what do you all typically eat in the spring/summer? I hate burgers and hot dogs and get relatively pissed when we have to have them a bajillion times by the pool. I won't eat them. I can't eat hot dogs without something else and well I just find them relatively disgusting. I like Wass's hot dogs in Maine and that's about it. I love sauerkraut.
Anyway, I have to go now. I'm going to Joann's and Big Lots to look for lampshade stuff. Michaels was kind of crappy regarding anything. I'll post a shade I'm working on later. I'm going to get some listed this weekend on ebay. I'm not certain about prices. I was thinking of etsy too. But I have feedback built up on ebay so I like to use it.

Cows Starry Night with light This is the shade with being lit up.
|
Cows Starry Night Unlit This is it not lit. I'm pretty happy. I might add a few more stars.
So I'm going to buy more lampshades to cover later today. Oh but now that I've made the shade I want to make a base. I was thinking of a clear base that I put the same stars on then take paint, right? I first put a little bit of yellow inside, let it dry, put light blue, let it dry, then a dark blue. Each time it's shaken up so that it is all swirled on the inside. I think it would make a great base but I don't know how to do it.
Sorry for two posts in a row but I was just reviewing Dan In Real Life on Netflix. I can't believe it has such great reviews!!! That movie was so damned boring and predictable, if I was Steve Carell, I'd want to hang myself for contributing to such a wretched piece of trash film.
My Mom brought some pictures of us from like 3-4 years ago!! I think Megan is four in the pictures. Anyway, Mom finally had them developed. I was so TINY. Gosh. Part of me is sad about it but another part knows that I worked out all the time back then and haven't gained a lot of weight but could get back to this size if I wanted to. :) Anyway, here you go.

I'm exhausted. I painted the doors upstairs. I used the weed whacker to cut my whole lawn because my mower is rusted. Then I raked and got my flower beds ready to plant tomorrow. It's been a long day. My hands hurt and my arms do too. I just want to sleep.
I didn't put any auctions up on ebay this week. I just didn't feel like it. So today I have to go through my stuff that I have and list some stuff. I also have to go to a couple of thrift stores. Salvation Army is the best one for finding deals. All the other ones seem to overprice. $5 for a used children's dress? That's just dumb. You can get new stuff at Walmart for less than that sometimes. I'm not talking fancy dresses either. I mean like normal stuff that looks faded and used. Yard sales are best for buying clothes because people often just want to get rid of them and make a couple bucks. But anyway, I'm going to check out the SPCA thrift store as well as the Habitat for Humanity Restore. I need a new toilet for our master bath. I figured I'd check this place out before I go buy new. I'm really not in the mood to exercise right now. I'm going to wait until I get back.
I know that this may be silly to promote but I have to tell you all that I LOVE NETFLIX. They have tons of movies and such that you can watch instantly! I've watched a bunch of Quantum Leap since we started our trial. I've used my trial more than I used my Blockbuster membership. I always let Aaron get movies that he wanted in the queue. Most of what I wanted had a long wait. Now I can browse movies that have themes I am interested in and a lot are available for instant viewing. This is way better than any movie package you can add on to your television service. I love it! :) HBO cost us $13.99 a month and we canceled it. Netflix has plans for $8.99 a month with unlimited viewing online. Anyway if you have high speed internet, I highly recommend trying netflix.
Megan loves Seinfeld. LOL. She loves the one with Judge Reinhold as "the close talker". It was on today and I told her that it was recorded and she squeed then ran up the stairs to watch it! Haha. Now we're watching The Seven. George and Susan are arguing about the name. George yells out the window in the car "Alright, let's just stay calm here! Don't get all crazy on me!" Megan started laughing hysterically. LOL. Cute kid. She says, "He wants them to name their kid Soda!!" That was in reference to Susan's friend/cousin/whatever.
Aaron set his alarm to sound like a siren. SIREN. Do you have any idea what that does to you when you're not expecting it?? DO YOU? Oh my god. I think he took 10 years off my life! It was horrible. My heart started beating like crazy and I thought, "SMOKE ALARM! CARBON MONOXIDE! GAS!!! UGH!" LOL. Then I realized it was his stupid phone alarm!! Oh lord. And to top it off I fell back asleep and he must have hit snooze because IT WENT OFF AGAIN. This time it made my heart jump and start to race then I was fine. But you know what? It stressed me out enough to give me acid indigestion. What kind of person sets their stupid alarm to be a siren? NOT FUN. Believe me!!!

Tile Gas Megan made this by herself a long time ago. I'm unsure of when but it was before she could read very well. It's a necklace and a great source of humor in our home. Haha.
I just had to post that! Haha. :)
Oh and if you look closely above the L, you can see where I stabbed myself accidentally between the age of 8-9. It was with a clicky pencil! I was trying to do my homework before the bus came and it slipped and lodged into my hand. We never went to the doctor and I have a blue mark from it! Yikes. Whenever I tell Megan this story she gets this pained expression. It's usually when she's not being careful with a click pencil.
We just got in an accident. Two deer ran into the side of the car. It could be worse I suppose. We are okay. Car is damaged but it could be worse.
I need an alarm clock that sings this. I think everyone should listen to this song when they wake up.
Aaron had to show me how he likes to write things into Google Translate in English. Then he takes the translation and puts it back in.
Here's what he got for:
Would you like to give me a blow job?
ご希望の打撃の仕事をさせてくれないか?
We hope to hit Give me a job?
Here's what it does if you put a period at the end of the sentence.
Would you like to give me a blow job.
ご希望の打撃の仕事をさせてくれない。
We hope to work and hit me.
LOL!!!! :P

Cupcake Barette
I just finished designing this barette/clip. I'm pretty happy with it. I have to make the match to it still. My plan is to design and make a bunch of clips that I feel are worthy of being sold then open a shop on etsy. Although I like this clip, I'm not certain I would feel this one is good enough to sell. I'm thinking of pricing them for about $4-$5 a pair. I think that is reasonable. Maybe a little less or more depending on the time devoted to each one. This took me awhile but I was drawing, and cutting the pieces out too. Once I have the designs I can just make them. More ideas include: gingerbread men; gingerbread houses; faces of kitties, bunnies, bears, and panda bears; penguins, bumblebees, butterflies, turtles, octupus, seahorses, etc. blah blah blah. You get the point. I still have to design these then I have to work on the improving them. What I made today is just a trial run to see if I can actually make them.
Anyway, very tired...took melatonin.
